Established to maintain competence in mining songs and to preserve the mining culture, the choir pretty soon
developed a momentum, which increasingly led the choir to a role as a musical ambassador of the German
mining and miners.
Especially due to its connection to religious institutions it is no longer possible to imagine the
absence of the Ruhrkohle-Chor.

The Ruhrkohle-Choir was established in 1987. After many eventful years the Ruhrkohle-Chor can look
back on many successes: Many professional CDs, video productions, concert tours and television
appearances document the extraordinary musical work of this choir.
The passion and the noticeable will
to stand up for the culture of mining made, and still make the choir to what it is today: unique.

Extensive range of songs
In addition to the mining songs the choir also maintains other songs, both of spiritual origin, as well
as melodies from opera,
operetta, musical, and folklore from around the world to modern pop songs.
The result is an unusually varied and extensive
repertoire of over 300 songs.

In Germany and now throughout the world we promote our cause, our culture. In international
appearances in e.g.
Poland, Italy, especially in Rome, in Spain on the mainland and in Mallorca
and in
Turkey we could inspire the audience.
